Le Scan is a cosmetic skin assessment offered by Le Miracle Skin Clinic. This notice explains, in plain language, what the scan itself collects, where it goes, and the control you keep over it. It supplements the clinic's full Privacy Policy, which governs all personal information we handle under PIPEDA.
Your photos are handled by two service providers working on our behalf: a hosting provider, which stores them securely, and an artificial intelligence provider, which analyzes them to produce your skin report. Under our agreements with them, your photos are not used to train artificial intelligence models, and the analysis provider retains them only for as long as is necessary to perform the analysis. Your photos are never sold, never used for advertising, and never shared with anyone else.
Both providers operate in the United States, so your photos are processed outside Canada. While outside Canada they are subject to the laws of that country, and may be accessible to United States courts and law enforcement under those laws. The analysis provider is given your photos and measurements only. It is never given your name, your email address or your phone number.
We will identify these service providers on request.
To produce your report, the scan derives a set of measurements from the photos you provide. These include the positions of your facial features, such as the eyes, brows, nose and jawline; the paths of visible lines and creases; maps of pore and texture detail; the points identified as spots or blemishes; and the annotated images shown on your results screen.
All of this is derived from your own photographs and is not collected from any other source. It is stored with your scan, deleted when your scan is deleted, and used so that our team reviews the same results you were shown.
Le Scan uses cookies and standard analytics tools to understand how the page is used: which steps are completed, where people stop, and whether anything is failing. One of these records a replay of your on-screen session so that we can identify and fix faults.
Your photographs are never sent to any analytics tool. The fields in which you enter your name, email address, phone number and age are masked, so their contents are not recorded. The analytics record contains no name and no contact details. These tools are identified in the clinic's full Privacy Policy.
Your full results are reviewed with you by a Le Miracle medical aesthetician at your consultation. Our clinic team can view your scan in a password protected portal in order to prepare for and conduct that review.
We keep a statistical record of scans: age, skin characteristics, scores and the measurements described above. It contains no name, no email address, no phone number and no photos. Our team's professional review of each scan is added to this record. We use it to calibrate and improve the accuracy of the analysis for future clients, and we keep it after a scan is deleted. Because it holds nothing that identifies you, we cannot pick your record out of it once your scan is gone.
Your photographs, and the annotated images derived from them, are deleted automatically 24 months after your scan. The rest of your scan, including your name, contact details and results, is deleted automatically 36 months after it. We keep them that long so that a scan you take years apart can still be compared. Only the statistical record described above is kept beyond that, and it contains nothing that identifies you.
The link to your own report works for 30 days. After that it stops opening, and you can ask us for your results instead.
You may ask us for a copy of your scan, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it at any time, in person, by telephone or by email, without waiting for the periods above. Deletion permanently removes your photos, your name and your results from our systems. Only the statistical record described above is retained.
