Light your face from one sideBright, indirect light angled from your left or right, rather than flat from the front. Avoid a window or lamp behind you.
Bare skin works bestRemove makeup if you can. We can still scan with it, but results are less precise.
Glasses off, hair backWe need to see your forehead, cheeks and jawline clearly.
Relax your faceNeutral expression, no smile. We will also ask you to turn your head to each side, then take one closer detail shot.
Even better: have someone take itOn the camera screen you can switch to the back camera, which is sharper, and have a friend photograph you.
